From local incorporation to a growing manufacturing platform for therapeutic and nutritional products
Company Founded
Doctor's Choice Ltd was incorporated in partnership with Joint Medical Store to produce nutritional and health products locally in Uganda.
Manufacturing Begins
Operations launched at Jinja Industrial Area with a focus on locally manufactured nutritional and complementary health products.
NDA Licensing
The facility received National Drug Authority licensing to manufacture herbal drugs in capsule and tablet formulations.
Integrated Management Systems Certification
Doctor's Choice achieved ISO 9001:2015 (quality), ISO 14001:2015 (environment), and ISO 45001:2018 (occupational health and safety) aligned management systems.
MOH Partnership and RUTF Supply Expansion
Began supplying Ready-to-Use Therapeutic Food through Joint Medical Store and National Medical Stores for PNFP and public health facilities respectively.
Occupational Health and Safety Award
Doctor's Choice received the Occupational Health and Safety Award from the Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development for its employee training programmes.
Growing Impact Across the Region
The product range continues to expand with fortified blended flours and Ready-to-Use Supplementary Food (RUSF), supported by regional exports into Kenya, the Democratic Republic of Congo, South Sudan, and Tanzania.
